'Bats in the Belfry' ~ In the local press!
April 3, 2014
I am thrilled to share with you the following link to an article written about my local women's support group 'Bats in the Belfry'!
Our local newspaper, the Okotoks Western Wheel, decided to run a feature on us rather than simply place an advertisement to spread the word.
Those of you familiar with my website, will have seen 'Bats in the Belfry' under the 'Suitcase' tab. If you have not already taken a look, and are reading this via blogger, go to www.mamaitasjourney.com and take a peek,
I am hoping that after reading this feature, our group will reach a wider community of women. This promises to be, and has already been, a great resource for like minded women from Okotoks and the surrounding areas, of various age, belief, nationality and at every stage of our lives. It is free of charge and runs the last monday, every month, at 7pm in the Crystal Shores Beach House, and features different speakers from our community. Subjects discussed already have included confidence and self esteem, life balance, personality profiling, post natal depression, financial independence and the start of a 'Buddy Up' system where we set a challenge for ourself and our buddy helps us achieve it!My first challenge is to treat myself to manicure! Another of our group is challenged to read a book while she enjoys a soak in the bath tub! Another, to attend her first coaching session with me!! You see? It can be justifiable fun :)
Another fabulous idea has been the 'Two Do List' ~ This was a great challenge set by our speaker, Jackie Appelby, an esthetician from the home based salon 'Primp and Polish'. The challenge is to identify the things you like or need to do, and finding the time to do 2 of them in a month! This is so much less daunting than tackling a long 'To Do List' ~ Go on! Give it a try!
We are also starting to build an interesting Book List!
Read the article here... and feel free to contact me if you have any questions, ideas or would like to raise a topic or suggest a speaker... Everyone's input is vauable.
